Long library

Long library

A Poem by Ellie Qtz

The long library
Is filled with no light
It's just empty
not a single book in sight

It's so depressing
just standing here
waiting for nothing
nothing to appear

In a way the library is me
empty waiting to be filled
Waiting for nothing
Just waiting to be killed

Something is different
I notice suddenly
Someone waiting
waiting just like me

I take a book and walk over
and begin to fill their shelves
and they begin to do the same
we have a reason to be ourselves

We begin to fill the library
with all these new books
each one a memory
All happy from the looks

Suddenly new people
smiling oh so very bright
tell us to be strong
telling us to keep the fight

I have a long library
And all of it's shelves are filled
me and my new partner
we are both so very thrilled

No matter what, on the verge of killing yourself or what, you have someone, someone in the same situation, someone you can help. When you fill their shelves, they'll fill yours.

I liked this I took it that you are a book waiting to be read and opened however you also have to read other people and be open and honest with them and open up your pages to them
I also found it quite or slightly religious like God had put you in the world and you are the book alone and crying out then you meet the second person who I took as God or Jesus then you weren't alone then other people appeared and you filled the library the library in this context may be just a group of people you connect with with same beliefs who are happy and support each other turning each other's pages in life opening up to each other so yes I did love this your poem it can have many meanings well done x

Very strong poem. There are always people out there who can relate to your situation even if you don't feel like it. Connections helped me out of my depression. Thanks for sharing! Great stuff.
