Oh, dear child.

Oh, dear child.

A Poem by Electrochique
"

im not too sure why i wrote this. about the short comings of human nature

"

Oh dear child

So small like a mouse

Your fingernails

They are what caught me by surprise

So tiny, so soft

How could something so innocent

Grow to be us

Like grotesques on a cathedral

Sitting, hunched, judging

Watching like vultures

Waiting for failure

So we can jump on it

Like a rotting corpse

To devour it, gorge ourselves on it

Sustenance. Thriving on it

How have we let ourselves become this

I never understood how others

Could not see what they were

When it stood so plainly in my mirror

Tinted with rose, glittered like diamonds

When I realised a long time ago

That it was just coal.

Amazing.

I really love the fresh perspective. It also has a certain rhythm to it that is simply beautiful and very catchy. In my personal opinion, I agree with your opinion of child to adult.

"Tinted with rose, glittered like diamonds"=beautiful line!
