EVIL THOUGHTS

 

Lord…

Why do I always sin?

I’m like a broken toy

I always let the demons in

Then I’m starving for joy!

 

And love and peace

But I suffer long!

When will these evil thoughts cease?

I’m always thinking wrong

 

Lord I’m begging you to give me the mind of Christ

He looked into the future and saw me, so he paid the price!

The price for my freedom so that I won’t have to die twice

I can escape the lake of fire and have eternal life

 

Lord I want to have pure and lovely thoughts

Because the way I think these days are not as I aught

 

All day long my thoughts are dark

And it appalls me to know that they come from my heart!

 

So Lord I’m begging you to give me a new heart and renew my mind

I want to think lovely thoughts that are both honorable and kind

 

I know that I am only human but you’ve called me to something better

You’ve said to me: “Son of man, come up hither!”

 

You have called me to a higher level

You’ve given me the way to overcome the devil

 

I will fill my mind with your word till it conquers my thoughts

Now I have been given a chance to make a brand new start.
