Daisies

Daisies

A Poem by Elandra
"

After love has ended

"

Daisies

Do your thoughts, flitting
Through time, rest on the passionate
Echos of the night before.
Do her screams mirror my intensity?

Voice deep and rough as
Into her waiting ear you breath
Fragile words of devotion.
Waking to that voice was my ecstasy.

Smile against her lips
As she graciously claims her prize.
First kiss of the morning.
Soft lips once pressed to my neck.

Brushed aside memory -
Understanding your need to carress another.
Just please remember to
Replace the daisies on my tombstone.

Honestly the lines:
Voice deep and rough as
Into her waiting ear you breath
Was hard to read, i read and reread the first line three times, and it was totally confusing, until I read the next line. It's nice for the reader when everything makes sense at the end of the sentence. Despite that, it is a fantastic poem! Filled with emotion, and genuine sorrow. Very touching, very well done.
