Endings and BeginningsA Poem by ElaineThese were actually written at different times in my writing journal. When I read through them I realized how they go together and represent a healing journey. I put them together for the first timeJourney of Endings and Beginnings Part 1 No one seems to notice the fade There is a subtleness to its rise and fall And the mere droop Does not cause for much attention In fact, it appears to be overlooked,
ignored As if its fading has made it invisible Part 2 In the silent space a memory has sound It echoes of lighter moments Of youth Of confidence Of belonging In the silent space a future has no
sound The notes are stopped as if frozen Then dropped and cracked They lay Listening to a memory Part 3 The present nudges it awake As a slow thawing begins It no longer lies frozen Finding itself slipping along With the rush of melting liquid Propelled forward Cold and uncertain Yet mostly curious As it senses warmth ahead And relaxes into the ride Grateful to be unlocked To have awareness once again stirred Part 4 The rush of movement Takes on an exhilarating feel Moving, swirling At a speed that revives Every lost feeling Every forgotten emotion Every numbed need Nerves tingle with a tender pain Mingling with the joy of expanse Spreading, opening, embracing The pulse of new life The movement slows But doesn’t stop A breath is drawn A long exhale As a steady rhythm Replaces the rush Beauty infuses with winks of the sacred Touching the edge of Something beyond Awake, alive, aware No longer controlled Now moving at will It notices the contrasts around it Vivid opposites Existing with purpose Humming with peace And it realizes It is home © 2022 ElaineReviews
