Haiti

Haiti

A Poem by Elaenor Aisling
"

I wrote this during a mission trip to Haiti my senior year of highschool. We were focusing on visiting different orphanages to give the kids some much needed emotional attention.

"

There are no words

only tears

Cry my beloved country

though you are not mine

You clutch my heart

the same way your children

cling to my hands

As if I were a last hope

God do not let me be a last hope

but the first in a line of hopes

that carry them as  gently

as their mothers

would have.

This write I felt so deeply dear, I am so mixed too. If I look into the mirror, I'm Asian, European, and feel at home at to many countries, my heart is living in~ Wonderful expressions, and deep thoughts.

conversational style, flows of metaphor and behind the mechanics there is excellent thought which gives the reader a pause to consider. So, a very well written and interesting poem. It is a felt piece of writing.

So beautiful and heartfelt...and equally sad, that you have to write about such destitution and pain...especially for "our" children. Thank Goodness for people like you, Eleanor....it not only raises the hope for the poor children (and adults) of Haiti and others around the world...
but also inspires us back home to lift a finger, reach into our pockets, and enlighten our hearts to care...
This was a wonderful, caring write, Eleanor
thanks for sharing

Beautiful imagery here. It's very much a prayer. In itself, its like a candle in the dark. Your heart's intent is so perfectly lit.

Beautiful.
