The poem has an "olde" feel about it... the words - of course... it also has an evident underlying sadness and a sense of existence "lost" in a way it gets remembered - often.
Is this spiritual? Romantic? An ode to a friend? Ultimately, I think that's not what matters. What matters is the poignancy of the message. This is a wonderfully worded, skillfully written poem.
