Even without the title's reference to Rigoletto, this poems stands on its merits as a tribute to the thrush-like note that hope may yet strike, even the dank gloom of a soul long entombed.
This was a very thoughtful piece. We all wonder at one point or another if our own spirit is heading towards hardness such as this. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Well done.
There is so much lush and dark imagery in this, setting the stage for the deeper theme of redemption. I've never seen the movie, but I definitely want to, now.
This is an elegant, charming poem, filled with Gothic yet ebullient images which at first paint despair as concisely as a poem can before ending on what is an inspirational verse about hope. Lovely.
