Dark TimesA Poem by El ChicoSay the inverse to ward off the darkCrisp
shivers jolting achy bones The
expert wind slithers along, Over and within the shadows To
gust away minute bits A
clasp for bitter-sweet hope, That
long forgotten happiness A
fleeting moment when plans, places and people Conjoin
in captivated bliss
Timing
my highs to skip the lows Forever
moving forward in time we go
Upon
enemy territory we roam Forget
the terrorists in the far east We
have our own beast to master Erebus
our brother of chaos and darkness In
earlier times, the sound of laughter alone Shattered
the sword Now,
behold an Eros for pleasure is born Reciprocity
warrants further misgivings Of
you & that, this & them Welcome men, to the lion’s den You and all your brethren © 2015 El ChicoAuthor's Note
