Lost Children

Lost Children

A Poem by Final-Karma
"

I wonder what sort of criteria you use to divide people into good and evil

"
There are,
Two faces to my whole
My heart is cold
I'm all alone

Surrounded by the people
This seat is evil
Let there be silence

Beckoned taps on a solid door
Creaks of loss
Weeps of tragedy
How foolish you are

To make peace,
But to settle the score
Revenge is only bliss..

Cheeks of loved ones kissed
Tossed into the earth
One final glance at the hollow abyss

The lonely children with tears in their hearts
Not on their face
Since lack of water is truth to a world,
Filled with hate

The art of war pinpoint like a ticking clock
Seem small, but walk tall
Carry the biggest stick

Never forget who you are!

Sadly,
Self identity is one half of the whole
A lack of insight will leave you dead

Alone....

So they took you away from me
Away from the world
You will be remembered

We spread your wings

Ascended

This was very touching and sentimental. The first few lines describing the wholeness of self in referencing two faces stood out to me. We often adorn many masks throughout a day. We have this poker face that the world sees and the realness of ourselves are kept under wraps until we are comfortable with lowering the mask.

"Beckoned taps on a solid door."

This line reminded me on true, utter solitude. When I envision someone tapping on a solid door I'm reminded of the resounding silence of the room behind it. Very interesting way of phrasing. I like it.

Towards the end, when the speaker referencing their other half ascending towards the sky I'm reminded of the title of this poem. It seems as though this other person was their other half and without each other then they'd be lost children in a world where they knew nothing of but each other. Beautifully chilling and extremely heartfelt. Great read.

The love for haiku poetry was sparked during world literature studies, drawn to its ability to convey profound ideas in just a few syllables. Over the years, hundreds of haikus were written, inspired by moments of awe in everyday life, many of which are featured in the book Blue Harlequin. These haikus aim to inspire an appreciation for the simple beauty in life’s fleeting moments. Is there really a division between good and evil in people? Not really. We all have a little of each, or a lot of one, and a little of the other -- even a psychopath isn't evil - just devoid of empathy. The worst villains on earth often have a few people they love -- and with those people they are not evil. A very good write.

Although the thoughts were random as said, the essence of the poem was not. It really reflected the latest scenarios in a splendid manner. The description of "two faces" was indeed amazing and calls for a self introspection to all.
