No Strings Attached

No Strings Attached

A Poem by Eric Kaun
"

A song about pinnochio

"

No Strings Attached

Japetto, Why, did you create me?
You made me out of wood,
And you added strings
Just to control me.
You added paint to my face,
And you gave me clothes that I hate,
Japetto? Why did you make me?

Japetto,
Do you see me as a toy,
Or do you see me as your little boy?
You put me on the shelf,
To gather dust and dead skin,
Just because,
I look good as,
An ornament.

Tinkerbell,
Came and gave me life,
Pulled me down from that shelf.
And then I see,
A little cricket named Jimminy,
Told me to wish upon a star,
Be who I want to be.

I feel freer than before,
Never to return,
To the strings that held me back,
Never to return,
To that tiny, old puppet shack.

Japetto,
Do you see me as a toy,
Or do you see me as your little boy?
You put me on the shelf,
To gather dust and dead skin,
Just because,
I look good as,
An ornament.

Do you see me as a toy,
Or do you see me as your little boy?
You put me on the shelf,
To gather dust and dead skin,
Just because,
I look good as,
An ornament.
