Autumn Leaves

Autumn Leaves

A Poem by Marcus Medrano

If we are our own ballad
I want it to play
On infinite repeat
I'm so scared to let the song end

Even if we fall apart
I'll help pick up the pieces
You make me feel worth it
So how can I leave it?

Lets fix it together
We can continue looking
From now
Till whenever

And it doesn't matter
If the pieces don't fit the same
Its only right
To let it take its own shape

With the good ,the bad
And the ugly
You make my skin hot
Whenever you touch me

How do you turn my face red?
With just one look?
I couldn't look you in the eye then
And yet you still understood

You reminded me of what it was
To love me first
I know I'm not perfect
But that doesn't have to be a curse

Strength
And weakness
Give
And take

You make it so easy
Thank you
Now I know
This isn't a mistake

Autumn comes
And leaves change
And yet
Everything's the same

I'm not afraid anymore
