Real

Real

A Poem by Marcus Medrano

Im starting not to like me with each passing day

i guess thats just a side affect

after your summer rain

did you get the text i sent you

i was happy when your message came

but now what am i suppose to do

i finally admit it

i cant stop loving you

just don't take advantage

i said id fight to be here

but theres only so much my heart can manage

i may talk a lot of s**t

but you know whats behind it

If love was a flower that was set to bloom

then ours would have died after you left the room

if you wanna go and get it

imma need you to respect it

when i see your name it hurts

cause i know that you're with him when i wanted you first

I'll admit that I've been trying to avoid poems with this subject matter involved, but I'm glad I read this. It's written in a way that tells a story while also getting your feelings across, which is fantastic and I can relate to this, to the hurt from someone turning their back and leaving or the pain of having someone else choose another. It's a very well written piece. Kudos.
