Moon Stone

Moon Stone

A Poem by Marcus Medrano

I am a two sided card that only reflects myself and black
But that doesn’t change my mind
I want to send my light to you
If you can reflect it back

If I am the Moon that calms the Sea
Am I being selfish for wanting you to show the light that’s within me ?
I can affect you but you’re too far to touch me

Another painful conversation

The Sea has so much to hold
Continents to coast
But I won’t lie to myself
Just to hold onto bitter hope

What a blind Moon

If I am the Sea that reflects the moon
Would you consider me rude
If I only admired you
Your light is something I can hold
But I can’t make light of my own
But that does not mean I don’t cherish the light that you bestow

Please don’t tell me something I already know

In my heart
I am still calling your name

Your writing style is very fluid and vivid, I love it. While this piece could be about a couple different things, perhaps unrequited love or simply a long distance relationship, it's the emotions that you've so finely intertwined into the piece that come across clearly. Good read.
