Aching with Depression

Aching with Depression

A Poem by EileenMarie
"

Living through the blues

"
Despair is lurking all around me
No sunny day can bring back joy
All beauty is masked with pain
Hopelessness fills the air
Deep sorrow stays strong
Sadness wins
For now
Hurt

EileenMarie, I saw that you had reviewed one of my poems, so I made a visit over to your page to review one of yours. When I noticed the title of this write I was immediately curious, as I am bipolar myself. "Sadness wins for now...Hurt," is a line with which I can certainly identify. The social stigmas associated with depression, bipolar disorder and other behavioral health conditions are often not admitted to by those it affects; thank you for your honesty and the way you've expressed it. take care...dan

Nice description of how dull life can bee when you are dealing with depression. It does hurt to have depression as you said a the one. Short but powerful piece. N.

Again thanks for reading! I'm glad you liked it :)
I like the line Deep sorrow stays strong
and like the last four lines.

Almost can use this a symptom list rather than a navigation tool.

Check out my Back for Rainbow Jell-O poem- it talk about depression too.
I don't like so much poems about depression because it honors the depression, sets a crown on its ugly face and it cries so much for attention. But i must admit you've done it well. You keep it simple and the form underlines the message. It goes down down down, as dirty water into a sink. I don't know you but hope you're feeling better. (Don't care so much about family)
