Sword to my Soul

Triolet A Triolet is a poetic form consisting of only 8 lines. Within a Triolet, the 1st, 4th, and 7th lines repeat, and the 2nd and 8th lines do as well. The rhyme scheme is simple: ABaAabAB,

    Your presence is like a sword to my soul

   No matter the time or place

   To report my faults is your goal

  Your presence is like a sword to my soul

  Being you is being always on patrol

Your own despair written on your face

   Your presence is like a sword to my soul

   No matter the time or place

This is my favorite poem of yours. I can feel your pain. Men like this unfortunately are hard to shake. I think it may be in part because we feel like there must be something wrong with us. In hindsight we see the truth, but in the moment our insecurities win over rational thought.
