False Agony

False Agony

A Poem by EileenMarie

Loneliness encompasses my heart
Questions of what does this all mean
Fill my head with confusion
Joyfulness evades me
Morning is the worst
Wake with despair
Sadness wins
Until
Change

Stunning little poem!
For what it's worth, there was a period during my thirties when I suffered from profound depression. My soul felt like a flickering pilot light; threatening, at any second, to go out. What eventually saved me, was hard physical work--work that caused me to break a sweat. Slowly, my eyes began, once again, to exhibit life; a sense of normality--of being human--returned to my life.
No pills; no counseling--except, of course, for prayer.
Obviously, EM, your poem is thought-provoking.

I think it has a lot of room for expansion. It is decent, but it can be amazing if worked upon.

Well expressed, my favorite so far. You capture it well and leave it once again with your determination to overcome.

So do I. I go to bed depressed and everything, and when I get up, it's even worse.
If you wake up with despair in the morning, it sort of ruins your whole day, doesn't it?
