Second Glance

Second Glance

A Poem by EightBlueHearts
"

No one ever likes what they see.

"
It would be far too easy to turn around; far too easy.
Turning around would mean caring, loving, understanding -
None of which we do, not really.
But then there are the rare occasions on which we do.

No one ever likes what they see;
Staying put would have been so simple - so simple.
Our eyes become jaded by the sight of black and blue;
The sight of half-alive bodies shattering at any given moment.

Words are bullets, hearts are their targets.
We do not want to feel, to watch, to hurt.
So instead, we do what we do best.
We turn our backs without a second glance.

Long story short (yes, pun intended), I like to write things. Simple as that. I enjoy hearing everyone's opinions-good or bad-and incorporating them into my writing. That's it. Like what i write, or d.. more..
