Night Wine

Night Wine

A Poem by delocyle

I looked into your opium eyes

And lost myself in the subtle lies

Towered dark against the moon

Woke up hearing my own cries

I dont know if i should believe you

Your breath taking words cages me

And i am unable to find its key

Poisonous glance, complex mind

Makes me insane and my soul twined

The thought of your kiss

Gets into my body and numbs my veins

The thought having you as mine

Gives me the feeling i drank a lot of wine

Discovery shuffle led me here. It's gothic in its style, but I like it. It goes to show that writing pieces like this can age like wine even 12 years later.

Love the last line.
There's an almost vampiric feel to the first stanza..
nice and eerie.
