MissingA Poem by EichendorffNo, I do not miss you Do not think of you throughout all time Living life as usual-that is what I do Do not think that is a crime
As always when I see a flower Then all of that's no longer true In it I see your beauty tower And sink in dreams where Aphrodite is you
No, I do not miss you Do not think of you throughout all time Only common places which I get to Do not think that is a crime
As always when I smell the scent Of a flamboyant floral field I know when flowers' fragrance has an end Your perfume made by Flora is revealed No, I do not miss you Do not think of you throughout all time Common life without you-that is due Do not think that is a crime
As always when I taste the honey Made of the sweetest nectar of the world I know there is ambrosia that can't be paid with money When we are kissing, its dolce sapidity is then unfurled
No, I do not miss you Do not think of you throughout all time Doing common things I always used to do Do not think that is a crime
As always when I hear the birds I know that every of your words Makes sirens seem to mourn
No, I do not miss you Do not think of you throughout all time Round me common people whom I talk to Do not think that is a crime
As always when I feel a rose The only thing that I can feel is thorns That hurt me like the arrow Cupid chose To pierce my heart so that a poor man mourns
I think of you and inwardly I am discerped My heart is just a heap of rubble There's only one way that my pain is curbed: To unify your golden heart with mine Can liberate me from my trouble As you are everything for which I pine
Oh yeah, I really miss you I do at every eyelash, every breath and every heartbeat Cupid's arrow leads me to this heartneed But still you are not here and that's my life-destructing issue. © 2015 EichendorffAuthor's Note
