Poem 1A Poem by Ego AmoInspired after reading the first part of Hamilton's 'Dymer'
In the midst of contemplating
Dream I view through rippled glass: A vision of consuming life Which blinding, guiseth worthy as. And moving in the twilit scene An hundred thousand men i count Fulfilling up their clasp'ed 'sels Out of the sideral fount. I witness that the hurtful spill Did cause their leaden visages And did unclear the corn'al way Which aether ought make passage Nor could the humble wights let loose Of piteous state their fetter; For dread, but more: for lead filled eyes Which valued life the better. Not so that n'worthy world exist, But these, far from it stationed, Could' but their soully gambit take In fellish simulation. © 2011 Ego Amo |
