Abandoned by My LoverA Poem by Egao-onnaA girl who thought she had found True Love, found True Love's second thoughts.
Our joyful accord had been set
The harmonious chimes promising new life Rang loudly in the chapel To come I, giddy with excitement Dance about in my dress of pure while You with your black attire The Angel and the Fallen We are escorted by our comrades To the penultimate moment Of the start of our lives The closed doors waiting To open upon our joining I glace up to marvel At you're Kindness and Love That you have shown me all of these years A breeze blows my veil The door is open What is that I see In your eyes? A hesitant glance to the door She waltzes by She who I can never be Your eyes sparkle And you smile like you smile at me A breeze blows my veil, flower petals fall The door is open She runs and embraces you tightly And you grin even more I turn away So you cannot see my tears A breeze blows my veil, it flutters in the wind The door is open You beg to speak with her "Just a final word" You plead A breeze blows my veil, red roses on white satin The door is open I consent Because I know that it will make you happy But you can see The dissent in my eyes And you waver Brushing me aside You ask again I swallow my sorrow In my snowflake silk gown As you walk down the aisle To pursue the one you left And I turn and face the Chapel, the World Alone Sobbing quietly I turn slowly to right the wrong That you have made I have no weapon I glance down at my hand, and begin to smile inanely She clutches you, frightened You stare back, aware of what you have caused I step down the aisle And drive my fingers into her eyes Rip her piece by piece Excommunicating the refuse A breeze blows my veil, my crimson gown drips The door is open © 2011 Egao-onna |
