This poem conveys the pain very effectively... Strange how people seem so perfect in the beginning and slowly the illusions crumble. We still try to love them but then we get their rejection too. What's even worse is that sometimes they keep looking back or try to keep a foot in, purely for the sake of their sordid egos. "Don't look back' is the best advice here!

Thanks mate :) rejection could be gravely inconsolable while puckered on an edge with a much sought live flint of hope, a brazen pattern of escape that's in despair, only to be grazed by disparaging memories and lit to burn away. but their (her) need to have a hand in our well being and future.. sordid.. somehow, such unkempt evil.. I looked back. wasn't pretty.
