Lying among mournful mounds

Lying among mournful mounds

A Poem by Hayden McCain

I lonesomely lay
amongst the
mournful mounds
of mud and clay.
Ghastly growing
grim and grey .
Inattentively
tumbling down
towards tears .
But too crushed
to crack and cry
away my
fervid flood of
selfless fears.
