A single tear

A single tear

A Poem by Hayden McCain

A single tender
timid tear
trickling
down my pail
pain painted face .
Leading it’s
pleading sulking serenade .
Which reflects
back to me
a bitter
burning memory .
Of when our
love like a dove
flew into the
saddened sea
of fantasy.

This is very good work and I enjoyed reading it. I would suggest only that you change the word "pail" to the word "pale" since I'm fairly certain you do not have a bucket face. Your descriptive qualities are strong and the piece has a good flow. Keep up the good work. F.

Has the sound of grief for what once was but no longer is. Memories can stir emotions almost as much as current events, sometimes more. This one conveys well the sense of lingering pain.
PS: Consider ditching the apostrophe.
