Strung AlongA Poem by Jack KennedyHate it or Love itEvery night seven days a week He uses me to put on a show For the audience over again Shows seem like an eternity The crowd chants and laugh At the terrible jokes and gags His name in lights, mine's not He takes all the credit and fame I have to sit and take a backseat He says he's grateful for --- them Never for me! Just them he says "only you all". I hate the audience and I hate him He can't do the show without me But everyone and him forgets that He had several replacements Numerous third parties but none Could do what I've done and no One will ever come close to me Or my talent! He sit on stage and I sit on his lap We tell jokes that makes them Laugh then when it's over I have To go back inside my case While he celebrates my hard work Tonight is the night though I'm gonna take over the show! Just waiting in my case for the Perfect opportunity then he is all Mine and we will finally see who is The Dummy now!
