Over My Dead Body

Over My Dead Body

A Poem by Jack Kennedy
"

This is a letter to HER which is a entendre!

"
How am I feeling, it doesn't matter
Cause you know I'm okay
Still I ask "why do you worry"
When you know I'm the same
Even though you don't love me
They're trying to take you,
Take you away from me
Only Over My Dead Body...

...

Nothing will ever stop us
Together it is just me and you
You don't and won't ever love me,
But I will forever and ever love you
I will spend eternity chasing you
Chasing the thought of us
We've met like a head-on collision
Not being able to separate since
I've fallen a bit and you've noticed
Now they want to take you away
Take you far away from me
Only Over My Dead Body...

While I have often attributed my muse to others, It is ultimately inside of me and despite that fact I see my muse as of the fairer sex. I refuse to be separated from this passenger and will fight tooth and nail to keep it, so this piece speaks to that tenacity in me.

Kudos and keep it up.

Some very powerful lines there...

"How am I feeling, it doesn't matter
Cause you know I'm okay
Still I ask "Why do you worry?"
When you know I'm the same"

"I will spend eternity chasing you
Chasing the thought of us
We've met like a head-on collision"

Just a point - "Even thought you don't love me" - should be though, not thought. Just kinda interrupted the flow of the poem for me.
