Chapter 16- Meeting The Werewolves

As we walked, Jacob chatted with me about where I came from and why I moved here.

"My mother died so we moved here from Seattle so we could start a new life," I explained.

"Oh, I'm sorry. That's one thing we have in common. My mother died when I was young. She died the same way, from a car accident," Jacob said gloomly.

"Really? I'm sorry."

He shook his head. "Nonsense. I hardly remember so it's fine."

We were finally at 1st beach. I saw lots of driftwood laying around and the sand was kind of rough from the rain and ocean. Then I heard a howl. I looked at Jacob.

"Is that... one of your pack members?" I asked.

"How did you know about that?!" Jacob asked shocked.

Oops. I forgot that he didn't know that I knew. Bella looked guilty.

"Did you tell her?!" Jacob asked angry.

"Sorry. She already knows about the Cullens being vampires so-" She covered her mouth. She said too much.

"She even knows about that?!" I was scared. Jacob was viberating in a wierd way. I remembered something Alice told me.

"If any werewolves in human form viberate, be very careful. Try to calm them down. If not, RUN!"

If I don't calm him, he'll turn into a werewolf. I heard the howl again but it sounded angry. Jacob looked in the direction.

He tried to calm himself and the only thing that were shaking were his hands. "We have to get out of here."

"Why?" I asked.

"Before- it's too late. Do me a favor both of you and act calm."

I ran over to Bella's side. In the clearing, coming toward us, were a group of people. They were all very tall, almost as tall as Jacob. They had dark skin and black hair. They were all in a formation with someone leading them. They stopped about five feet away from us.

"Sam," Jacob said sternly. I guess he was Sam Uley the leader of the pack. This must mean that they were th werewolves.

"Jacob." Sam sounded like he meant business.

"Look Sam this is a-"

"Stop. I know. It isn't your fault. It's Bella's."

"It's noboby's fault!" Jacob sounded dangerous. I wouldn't mess with him.

"Who is this girl here?" He was talking to about me. Bella stayed close by my side and I hugged her, scared to death.

"This is Lauren Head. She came here with her dad, Stephen Head. You should know that he's celebrating with everyone at my dad's place."

"Yes I know. But how does she know about our secret?" Sam folded his arms. I felt like I was in a tv show from the scifi channal.

"Bella told her. But-"

"Enough! Bella... why would you tell her?" He was asking Bella the questions now.

"She needed to know so she can be careful around here. She even knows about the Cullens being vampires." She sounded so calm. Why couldn't I be so brave?

"But you don't know. She could be on the bloodsuckers side and find a way to hurt us," said someone beside her.

"She just moved here Paul. Why would she do that?" asked Jacob.

"She could be a nomad like that on woman we killed."

"By the way, that was Edward and Seth, not you. And NO she isn't a nomad or vampire. So shut up!" I was scared. Was he alowd to do that without getting in trouble?

Paul trembled and growled. He was getting mad. I stared with eyes wide. A boy who seemed young ran up to us and grabbed me and Bella. I saw something explode. I saw, in Paul's place, was a big silver, with a dark tone, wolf. Paul transformed into that wolf? I expected it to be one of thoses werewolfs who would scare the crap out of you. But he was scary. He leaped at Jacob. Jacob burst too.

"JACOB!" screamed Bella being held back by the young boy. "Seth let me go!"

"No, you'll get hurt!" Seth held us back. I saw a brown-red fur colored wolf who was Jacob. I watched in horror as I saw Jacob and Paul fight and shreading and biting each other.

"Quil! Help me here!" Seth called. Quil ran over and I saw all the others try to stop the fight.

"Grab Bella. I'll get Lauren," Seth commanded.

Quil shook his head and picked up Bella. Seth picked me up like I was a feather and we ran off into the woods nearby.
