Chapter 8- Misunderstanding

I woke up staring at the white hospital roof. I still felt woozy but luckly the pain went away. I started to regret what I've done to myself. My arms and legs were covered with guaze bandages and my head about 3 of those. I tilted my head toward whoever was sitting next to me. It was Edward. He stared into my eyes with a sorrowful look. I gave the same kind of look back at him.

I frowned but smiled a bit. "Hey."

Edward didn't respond. He was just to upset what happend. Finally he spoke. "Lauren... do you have any idea how sorry I am? I can't believe I almost killed you. I am truly sorry."

I frowned. "No, I should blame myself for this. I was the one who yelled at you in class and cut myself up. I'm the one who should feel sorry for myself. You have no blame in this. It's not your fault that you believed in Rosalie."

"I can't believe I believed her. I should of seen it coming." He held his head in his hands. I felt sorry for him.

"Why would Rosalie tell you that?"

He sighed and looked back at me. "Rosalie hates herself for what she is. But she doesn't any danger to come to us so she is very precautious with others who know our secret. Don't worry to much. She was the same way with Bella. She just wishes she were human too."

I felt sorry for Rosalie. She was just jealous. Well not in that sense but she just wishes she were human too just what Edward said. "Edward... may I speak to her?"

"I don't think that's a good idea."

"I think she wants to talk to me also... can I speak to her?" I gave him a pleading look. Edward studided me for a moment then nodded. I walked out the room to go get her. I stared up at the roof with wonder. Would she act mean toward me? The only way to find out is to talk to her. I heard the door open then closed silently. I looked over at Rosalie. Her beauty was just unbearable. She could break anybody's heart with her blond hair and her figure. She walked over with such grace and sat herself at the chair next to me. She looked at me with a froen on her face. I guess she was waiting for me to say something since she didn't say anything.

"Hey Rosalie." I sounded so stupid greeting her like that but I didn't really care about the way I speak at the moment.

"Lauren... I'm so sorry. I'm sorry that I told Edward about you and putting you in danger. I didn't think he would go that far. That fool! Could you please forgive me?" I felt sorry for her. She was just jealous that I was human and she isn't.

"Of course I forgive you Rosalie... you know... we're alike. You lost your other family... in a different way... and I lost my mother a month ago. I never told anyone this but... I like Forks very much. Back at Seattle... I barely had any friends. I was always made fun of. But here... I have Bella and the rest of the Cullens... and then you."

Rosalie was shocked that I considered her as a friend. She was. Even though she lied about me, I sensed good in her. She truly didn't mean to say that.

"Lauren... thank you so much for understanding me and yes... i consider you a friend too." We gave each other a light hug and then she pulled away. "Oh... I'm sorry... I should leave so you can rest."

I shook my head. "No you don't have to leave if you don't want to." I wanted her to stay so we could talk.

"I have to leave anyway so I can talk to Carlisle. Besides... your dad's here. He wants to see you."

Crap. For some reason I was scared to see him. "Oh... um ok... I'll see you later then..."

She gave a small wave and left the door open so my dad can come in. My dad more liked charged in then walked.

"Lauren?! Oh my god dear are you alright? I heard you ran away from school and a tree fell on top of you!"

What kind of excuse was that? In the condition I'm in, 3 trees could of fallen on me. I just went along with he said. "Dad I'm fine. It was just a rotten old tree that I didn't relieze. Don't panic."

"There are a lot of things to panic about young lady. Why did you run away? I heard you got in a fight in class with someone named Edward Cullen. Who is this person? What did he do to you?"

Great I thought. So now I have to clear Edward's name for the incident. "Don't worry, the fight was my fault. It was just a misunderstanding."

"Is he here? I heard he was the doctor's son."

"That's correct Mr. Head," I heard someone say at the door. I looked to find Edward at the door. "Sir... I'm very sorry about Lauren. Like she said it was a misunderstanding. She just thought I was taking Bella away from her. It was my fault though for making her run away. I didn't hurt her, she just yelled at me in Biology." Edward sounded so convincing that my dad thought the story over and seemed covienced enough.

"Well... I'm sorry that I accused you like that Edward. By the way... I'm very grateful for your father. If it weren't for him my daughter would be dead right now."

I smiled. Edward seemed  glad too.

"Well... I got some papers to look at. Feel better sweetie." He kissed e on the cheek and left the room with a smile at Edward.

When he left and closed the door, I laughed so hard. "Please don't tell me you didn't come up with the tree excuse."

He shrugged. "Couldn't think of anything else."

He walked over to me and sat down at the chair next to the bed. He looked into my eyes with a wondering look. He leaned closer and, then, out of nowhere, kissed me on the lips. I felt red hot as the blood rushed to my cheeks. He held it there. I kissed back with no control. The kiss was so passionate I could of fainted. About a minute later, he broke it.

"I have to help Carlisle with something. Feel better." He kissed me on the forehead and leaned his face into my hair and kissed it. He pulled away and left the room. I stared after him in shock.

One thing's for sure, if Bella ever found out about this, I'll be dead in 5 seconds.

HOLY CRAP.
It is obvious that Edward would never ever do that.
But thats why I like it! It's so unrealistic to him in the Stephenie Meyer books, hah awesome.
