Where's Home (Stop Making Fires)A Poem by Edward ClaySong lyrics - song can be heard at http://www.myspace.com/moakemusic
I wander up, through the cracks in the earth
and I saw the light shine, through the trees, golden leaves, through the clouds in the night suspended on dreams in the silver starlight, and oh! what a sight! Took a walk in the open, the long grass brushing my sides; saw the river entwined with a warm hearted touch and a glow from above, with a secretive smile, one kind of love, and oh! I was lost. So where's home? Stop making fires, the sun sets on its own. When there's nothing left, will I still be sat all alone? (stop making fires, stop making fires stop making fires, stop making fires) And I'll spin round in circles, to find an horizon of my own and then I'll share it with you. We'd sit on the mountain, cloaked in a mist, while we'd gaze at the view, love on our lips, Where did we fall? We fell through the vision, the ambience drifting from view, and out there before us, a world we hardly knew; but we're set in our minds, we're set in our ways, bring down the curtain, repeat to fade, I dreamt of a much better place. So where's home? Stop making fires, the sun sets on its own. When there's nothing left, will I still be sat all alone? So where's home? Stop making fires, the sun sets on its own. And as all the colours bleed into one, I looked through the ashes of what we'd undone, so I closed my eyes and I crawled up through the cracks in the earth And you said, now you're home. © 2008 Edward ClayReviews
