Waterman

Waterman

A Poem by Drew Anderson

He traverses the sea in a dream built

by hand.

Supported by culture,

born from love,

responsibility, and respect.

He explores the sounds in

her alcoves

and her sights on high.

Searching

Fervently

For the pieces of his future.

Tossing and turning upon the grand,

endless waters.

His foundation,

rooted in ancient stone,

never before or since

faltered or waned.

As with all things,

the stone crumbles.

Leaving the scattered pieces

of the bastion

strewn amoungst the fishes

and the sharks.
