Only fools fall in loveA Poem by TaraAnd I guess I am one of themOnly fools fall in love And I guess I am one of them For you; you knew I would
fall You would call me
your Cupcake Your Jewel Your Sweetheart And in vain I let my heart make a pact
To be forever yours
Our love was like a piece of art We could make it whatever we wanted It did not matter who attacked Because you would never let my day go dark
It started off as little cracks Which then began to collapse Soon enough I felt like a ghost Of whom you refused to interact
I arrogantly ignored the truth Of who you were And what you had become
My mother had once told me That only fools fall in love That life is not a fairytale And princes do not ride up on white horses
I wish I had listened to her Because I now know she is right
Only fools fall in love And I guess I am one of them
