The Green Eyed Monster

 

He’s paranoid

Scared

And dangerous

He looks for deceit 

He sees what the other colours do not

He’s right

He’s always right

And he’s always in control

There’s no way to rein him in

He’s already set free

He climbs through your body

Slithers through your veins 

And settles in your heart

He drives you

He drives you insane

He tightens your chest

And makes your eyes sore

So sore

Your fingers clench because of him

You trust no one because of him

That creature

That abomination 

You would me happy without him

Naive

A fool

But happy 

He tells you you’re silly

Silly to fall

Only silly people fall

And you are silly

He helps you up

Only to throw you down harder than you fell
