Over Thinking

Over Thinking

A Poem by Aristede Craig Jr
"

Another ramble come and think with me so we can say I am ... What if I said over thinking is a poison and also its cure like most things but you must witness the effects of it .

"
I might have fallen of the edge
cracked my skull,
my brain may have rolled out and went into the drains
because strange enough?
I have no idea what im doing.
I seem to be floating
am I a cloud?
rain rain rain go away
brainstorm another. day.
wait! stay..
I need you ideas thoughts
I can do better
I wont over think you
to the brink,
you wont break.
I promise, but I have issues with keeping this empty word true
my word is good but sometimes I forget
probably in the drain with my mind
im designed to think to much
so to promise such is quite ridicoulus.
some would say madness..
no not realy .
just me...
just me floating carefree,
well actually that's a lie
I lie my mind is everywhere in that drain.
ha its probably thinking of ways to stop thinking and enjoy thinking.
foolish thing. "I think therefore I am". foolish phrase
foolish maze
thinking it can keep me at the beginning
where I fell and broke my skull
I am aware that I may be the present fall for the human race
but wait.... im not on my own.

Human Race...

FIRST IMPRESSIONS

"Over thinking" is something we can all relate to especially when we have creative minds; they tend to dwell on even trivial matters.

FORMAT AND CONTENT

Firstly, the format was appropriate for these "rambles" or a stream of consciences. Anger and confusion are difficult emotions to express rationally since they race to get outside our mouths. The repetition of "I wont overthink you" indicates an end of a relationship whether with a significant other or people in general. Love is a gateway drug for other powerful feelings; they are erratic and unpredictable. The speaker appeared to be angry with the "human race." I sensed a pun in here; the "race" part of the word struck me. Humans are often fools; their thoughts tend to be the rabbit in the classic tale of "The Tortoise and the Hare." We are in such a rush with our words and actions that it tends to bite us in the a*s. However, complacency is also unhealthy. The title suggests that these thoughts are kept bottled up like a time bomb, ready to be detonated.

CLOSING THOUGHTS

Overall, I enjoyed this fast paced "rambling." It is stress relieving to release all emotions even if they result in fragments, giving us a better understanding of what we are trying to convey. Thank you for sharing!

sincerely,
ria

Enjoyable ramble. I'm quite fond of a ramble myself. Ramble on my friend, ramble on...some of the greatest writers of all time were unashamed ramblers: Kerouac, Thompson, Wilde, and the list goes on... The ability to ramble is a writer's best friend...Long live the ramble, without it true literature is dead.
