Tears and SilenceA Poem by Solitary TravelerThis is the completion of a poem I wrote a year or so ago called The Tears that Silence Brings. It is my life.Tears and Silence Anger, eyes enraged, blame Such a small thing, sadness Patience, hope for tomorrow Tomorrow never comes. Patience rewarded with rage, Close your eyes, dream of something more. Loyalty rewarded with infidelity, Hurt, silence, and tears. Don't look, close your eyes Hope for fools, hide inside Just a bit of peace, someday Tired, so tired. Sun behind the clouds, lashes wet Death in your arms, worst day yet Hope too long, too far gone Cover me over, stone for my pillow. Silence unbearable, no end Eyes dry, tears that never fall All day is gray, the night dark No dreams to comfort. Rope in hand, rafters above Darkness inside, courage gone Maybe tomorrow, please, some peace, Tomorrow never comes. Sun is bright overhead, eyes are open, Bright reds, violets, shades are glorious One beam through the clouds, peace A smile on the lips, at last. Dreams are bright, comforting Waiting, hoping for arms that smile Long for loyalty, crave the comfort Eyes blazing, how pleasant her scent. Night is done, shadows chased away A new dawn, and new patience Tears are gone, silence is filled Tomorrow has finally arrived.
