Flawless Routine

Flawless Routine

A Poem by Eden Reabelle
"

Striving for perfection on a daily basis.

"
6 am, wake up.
It's time for your daily routine.
Wash your face,
Brush your teeth,
Comb your hair,
Look at your reflection.

Smile and take it all in.
A pool of tears is created
Within your eyes.

Productive, you say?
Productive? Not at all.
Waves of hate and competition.
That is all.

8 am, now.
Look around you,
The faces are proof
of monstrosity.
Full of hate,
Full of envy.

10 am, reading all alone.
12 pm, now.
Laughing like you're flawless.
Bleach your mind,
Fill your veins with peroxide.

2 pm, the day has
come to an end.
You listen to the
sound of his laughter.
You stare at those
beautiful eyes.
You couldn't see
a single flaw.

Bleach your mind,
Fill your veins with peroxide.
I want to be cleansed.

Lord, forgive.
This is the beginning
Of sin.

Interesting approach to the constant struggle toward perfection.
I enjoyed the pace of the poem, feeling it created a definite rhythm to reflect the importance of the message within the writing.
Great Work, Well Done!
