Small-Town Fire Light

Small-Town Fire Light

A Poem by Eden Reabelle

Shattered, like a bar singers hopes and dreams
I wish upon the flame colored skies and hope for a better tomorrow
I sing a song of pure darkness and duress
I just can't seem to get out of this mess
I fell long ago, but this time I could not stand up
Thoughts of how this should be dealt with-
I come to no conclusion
I leave this divided home and walk on broken bear bottles
The sidewalk where I started to grow
The sidewalk where I started to break
I come across similar tragedies-
I come across the drunks
Taking a seat next to the broken souls
Realizing where I belong
I had finally found it
Sitting here, drinking in the small-town fire light
