She breathesA Story by EdenisinsaneVery short, may contain distressing images. She breathes, but she doesn't. She walks, but she doesn't. Her brain functions, but she doesn't. Her life continues, but she doesn't. She knows that she’s alive-all the cogs that make up her pathetic existence are turning- but she's incapable of feeling it. The girl walks to class, hair in her eyes, and doesn't realise that she’s doing it. Her lungs take in oxygen, but she never feels it happening. The knife glides across her skin but she feels nothing. Crimson blood pours onto the floor and yet, she doesn’t notice. Thousands of tears form in her mother’s eyes when she sees her lying on the floor, but she never sees it. A crowd of black crows surround her gravestone- all red puffy eyes and clenched fists- but she doesn’t realise. One boy turns up after all the crows leave their sullen nest, dressed in bright blue- a beautiful canary, sad and alone. He kneels down and asks you why. Shame you felt the need to die. © 2017 Edenisinsane |
