My Lost FriendA Poem by EdenJosephA poem
We used to have laughs
and talks and stories. You used to believe I could be anything. I could talk to you and you could talk to me and there would be no silences Unless they were pleasant ones. Now we have fights and backs turned and questions Wondering, "Are you still there?" You only believe in what's possible what's real, No longer that I could reach the stars If I wanted them. Years now, I've yearned for my lost friend Whose words were always warm and uplifting. But I get a "Not now" or "Please leave a voice mail." And all that silence leaves room for pain. I never thought this was what growing up was. That my "Daddy!" would become a mere "Dad?" Now I no longer know you, nor you me. But I wish to meet you again.
