Haunted

Haunted

A Poem by Eden
"

Greif and loss

"

The rain is full of ghosts tonight,

And the yellow streetlamps illuminate,

Each shimmering spirit,

Floating weightlessly in the air.

Gentle droplets come down,

Tenderly kissing my cheek,

As I step into the abyss of night,

And search for you there.

Do you exist somewhere in the,

Grey looming clouds?

Or the stars barely peeking through?

In the patchy craters of the moon,

I thought I saw you.

The night air has become crisp and,

Brings goosebumps to my skin.

The nights were never this cold until you went,

To join the ghosts swirling with the wind.

Eden,
Excellent poem, milady.
I'm an old man, I've had a number of lovers in my life, outlived them all but two... It doesn't have to rain for the ghosts to come. A woman's hairdo, perfume, skirt, or shoes float by and
cling to some unaware passerby... they turn their haunting eye on me, and something inside melts a little, and wants to cry. I wander around looking for my past in someone new.
