Here's To A New Year

Here's To A New Year

A Poem by Edward L. Kearney

We all need a fresh start, a chance to start anew.
To right our wrongs and fix our mess when things go askew.

An opportunity to start over and turn the page,
To put into motion the plans that we make.

A chance to cut ties with toxic friends,
A chance to converge with old ones and make amends.

A time for us to cast aside our worries and sorrows,
For there's no guarantee for the day after tomorrow

We all strive to put our best foot forward, even if it means stumbling time and time over.
But sometimes we have to stumble and crawl before we can even walk at all.

The important thing is that we never give up, or let our trials and tribulations get us stuck.

So here's to the new year, and all that brings.
So raise your glasses high, to 2015.
