Holdfast

Holdfast

A Poem by Ed Rector

Oh what hearts have truest hold
To find righteousness in madness
To holdfast upon thou brink
And endeavor a boundless grasp

What serenity doth thou bring
And turmoil in great despair
What kinship brought by seraphs
Do to bondless times are thee

Holdfast my lover holdfast
And grasp thee for all days
Holdfast my lover holdfast
And show me thy righteous ways

Oh to the prying of ones heart
heldfast by a woman so fair
she justifies the righteous
and is sealed by a lasting touch

to her who congerours love
as vast as plains will allow
and as deep a gorgeous fill
she fills the void that's killed.
