War Poem

"

The aggravation, the devastation
The mind set that creates a nation.
Separating men of far off lands
Each taking a stand by combating

Proving nothing but war’s ongoing.
For holy war they’ll except your sin
To take a mortal’s life and kin.
Your duty’s to fulfill the reigning law

To give thou life when they wish
As they sit in sheltered ivory towers
They’ll watch our numbers be devoured.
The red shall flash upon deaths morn.

Through your eyes you’ll see no more.
Your flesh consumed to mother Earth
Back to her grave to give birth again
And if you shall live to see a new

Your ears will echo cries of the past,
Voices of the slaughtered haunting.
Peace we surely shall never see.
For the blood that flows within us

Is the same as all the wars before,
As shall they be forevermore.
Never shall we ever be set free
From mortal men’s atrocities.
