Recapture

Recapture

A Poem by Ed Rector

You’ve shown me ways I’ve long forgot,
An eternal love that’s worth a fight.
Like Hector to protect his brothers will.
A love to Helen, no longer to Troy.
A betrayal to ones own nation,
Ones own ill-fated situations.
To forget all else and love.

Great write!
The way I enterpreted this as two lovers who knew each other before, then they parted for some reason
It had been a while since they were together, something not good happened to their relationship and despite all the bad that happened, they forgave each other and forgot about what happened.
Whether that is true or not, a beauty of love was portrayed in this simple little poem!
