Insanity of Humanity

Insanity of Humanity

A Poem by Ed Rector
"

An anti-war poem that's meant for performance

"
The red stars are drenched from the blood of soldiers
It is war crimes that made it so
And war cries are heard from miles down the road
from the raping of innocent women in their homes
And the saddest of the sight is it's children more so

This is the reality the obscure normality
That we have had to face head on

When days are settled into nights things begin to move
The soldiers that were once at home
Lose their faces in dusty roams
In search of enemies they never knew
And have yet to gain a clue
On why the hell they'd place them selves
On battle fields of raging hell
Where fire burns and stomachs turn
At the stench that lays around

You can hardly breathe
For lungs are infused with the latest gases
The ones that make us fall on our asses
And never return to normality

What does this say about humanity?
