If i should die

If i should die

A Poem by Edmund S. Obumba

If I should die in my sleep,
then I Pray my LORD,
that my dreams be of love,
of happiness and fulfilment.
may my sleep be peaceful,
may it Honor you.

If I should die in my walk,
then please make all my endeavours,
be a blessing to everyone,
to reconcile;not to break,
to brighten,not to anger
to spread truth,
not lies and gossip.

If I should die in my speech,
then dear Lord,tame my tongue
teach me to hold it
that I may not utter blasphemies,
decieve,judge and accuse.
That it might honor you always.

If I may die in my sight,
please may my final sight,
be free of evil,
free of malice,free of deceitfulness...

If I Should die now my LORD,
then please, let my past be an example
to the living.
