To my beloved

To my beloved

A Poem by Edmund S. Obumba

When I knew you,
I had a splinter of doubt
in my soul.
I felt weary of your smile,
affection and tenderness,
for my will was torn and affection
torn
after one of your kind
lacerated my heart.
My conscience taunted me,
but at the same time convinced me,
so I gave in and opened my heart,
to the vanities of love.
You sailed me in your boat,
and kept me afloat in love,
a scab formed on my wound,
and for a moment I loved,
and felt loved..never turned back..
Now here I am,giving this world
my last respects,
breathing my last,trying hard
to keep my eyes open
I lust no more earthly things
and my gaze is now fixed to YOU
So here I am,
embrace me,
hold me,
wipe away my tears make me feel
alive.
I'm dying to this world Jesus,
make me yours,
Love me and make me whole,
as I breathe my last,
to this World

I do enjoy a tenderly flowing love poem, this is a well paced, beautiful, earthy, splendid poem. Thanks.
