Letter to my unborn child.

Letter to my unborn child.

A Poem by Edmund S. Obumba

My dearest child,
I envy your abode,so silent,so serene,
away from this queasy feeling,
we get each time we wake,
to the stench of our 'fresh air'
too bad..you'll join us
in a month or two...
but good thing you've got a chance to
prepare...
Nyarpiny my baby(I know you are a girl)
you'll need a heart of concrete
to withstand all the arrows..
be it from cupid or heartbreaks,
a brain of water..
to dissolve all the troubles you'll experience
that would otherwise age you before you deserve,
eyes of glass,
so they don't get sore from all the crying,
rubberband lips,
so that u don't tire of smiling,
heavy feet..that wont hurry to harm
a large stomach..
to stomach all sorts of gossip from
your kind..be careful not to vomit.
unclenchable fists to keeo shaking hands
even though raining blows would seem fair,
lockable thighs and a thinking brain
so u don't end up thin and lifeless...
and to top it up,
A LIVING GOD
so you can make it through
this rummage called LIFE
