Judge What You KnowA Poem by Edmund S. ObumbaA look at how we blindly judge things we dont really know about.
They judged her appearance,the
clothes she wore, her major adherence long ago was close to a w***e's, but now she's into garments, most consider a bore, knee length skirts, the kind you girls abhor. She has so many fiends 'cos her friends couldnt comprehend. They called her a fake,a sell out because she had nothing you'd commend. Their comments were full of new styles that they'd recommend. But she held on,tight to her intuition, clutching onto her books cos she understood why she paid for her tuition. They secluded her, turned her into a recluse. The boys never saw her bemusing, saw her as a refuse, jeering as she passed by wishing she could be used, but she focussed on her purpose, refusing to be moved. Turns out her previous life was a paining sore, all these people castigating had never seen what she saw, her past was so gory, felt like she had been cut with a saw, she almost drowned in that sea of lies, barely made it to he shore. She slept around, even with guys she wasnt sure, thinking the size of her hips denoted she was mature, she thought she found love, but all he was after was her aperture, She wasnt really ready, just another lost amature.. trying to salvage reason from a brain so premature... She had a taste, and one day got raped. she bled and cried inside 'till her soul draped. She napped over any possble support but they all fell, she noticed that having ratchet friends was a total fail, she was left all alone,in this cold world, pregnant ,diseased and frail. Fast forward she decided to change, Charge whatever fear she had and change it to gain, using her brain and flushing down her pain in the drains.. She does it silently,no one notices, except those who are quick to judge her using blunt words from their oral orifices. © 2014 Edmund S. Obumba |
