i just felt inspired..read and come up with one..cheers!
Hello,
Its been a week since i last penned. I would have spewed a plethora of words, but it seems something must have happened. I had a mixture of anger and delight, but mostly pessimistic because i thought myself you were trying to ward. But my African spirit of persistence has triumphed and shone me a light.
So you said last time you will think about my blood burning question, I lie in bed, stare at my mat of a ceiling, silent, wink after wink every night, sometimes in fright, agony and plight sometimes in hope believing my day as a dog will come ironically listening to Florence's 'dog days are over'... Til i shut my eyes hoping to find a letter by my door.. just to tell me okay..or rather 'sawa'
I do get letters. I get letters with the exact writing and exact words like mine. Only difference.. they're branded RTS and at the signing off, I get a warm 'Lotsa Love,Eddy' Wow..I love me.. Another dead letter.
I fight my paranoia at times, fight my conscience read a dictionary, keeping sight of cliche and blase to avoid, hoping i wouldn't bore you. I write with a selection of words just to give a nirvana to your disturbed thoughts.
Someday you'll answer back, someday, you wont ask me to lick your back, for an answer. someday you'll write back, someday you'll give meaning to my letters, and take my heart from this shack.
Maybe, you'll bring my dead letters back to life. maybe you'll read my pieces and chop down your soaring ego.,
Maybe you'll bring my dead letters , back to life.
"Someday you'll answer back,
someday, you wont ask me to lick your
back,
for an answer.
someday you'll write back,
someday you'll give meaning
to my letters, and take my heart
from this shack. "
This is some powerful poetry.. Thanks for having visited my page, Edmund.
P.S.: you see the 'notepad' kind of sign below this in the line of the upside-down thumbs? Click on it to comment on my review.
These parts:
"Til i shut my eyes hoping to find a letter
by my door..
just to tell me okay..or rather 'sawa' "
"I fight my paranoia at times,
fight my conscience
read a dictionary,keeping sight
of cliche and blase to avoid,
hoping i wouldn't bore you. "
"Maybe you'll bring my dead letters ,
back to life"
My favorite bits. Powerful. Those parts don't have rhyme. I like the idea of playing with rhyme. But the truth seems to hit me in the parts where you just say it bluntly, in confession format. Maybe the rhyme comes in and goes away, and you reference it in a moment of self-consciousness.
Where you mention the dictionary, and saying how you hope it wouldn't bore - that's brutal truth. You'd second guess yourself as a writer with this person, and admit it to her. That's such a gesture and it comes across on the page. My letter was 100% non-fiction by the way!
